The adverse effects of the outbreak have extended to our alma mater as well, resulting in cancellations ofgraduation and entrance ceremonies, instruction being shifted to online classes, and new students not being able to set foot on campus. As such, we sincerely hope foran end to this pandemic by the time this message reaches you.Kansai Gaidai continues to make remarkable progress and has earned its name as an exceptionally well-developed establishment of higher-learning among universitiesthroughout the country. Its overall advancements have been extremely gratifying, and they allow each of us to feel the delight of taking pride in calling it our home.We at the Kansai Gaidai Alumni Association would like to give back to our alma mater as much as possible and develop alongside the university while creatingopportunities for alumni members to rekindle old relationships.Alumni activity has continued to progress; this year alone, we have seen the establishments of the Hokuriku and Kyushu branches. I am very pleased with this, as thisfurther demonstrates how KGUAA is firmly advancing. We are also supporting student activity by awarding KGUAA scholarships to thirty Kansai Gaidai studentsevery year. This year, however, since the various branches have been forced to cancel their general assemblies and the gatherings that normally follow, there is asurplus of budget, which will now be utilized to expand the number of scholarship recipients.These are tough times for all. The corona situation along with the countless natural disasters recently have not made it easier. Nonetheless, we would like to continuepursuing what we, as the Kansai Gaidai Alumni Association, can accomplish, and continue to flourish along with the university.I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to you all for your continued guidance and encouragement, and hope for your continued well-being and prosperity.Chair, Kansai Gaidai University Alumni Association
